Therapy for Adults

At The Cove Therapy, we offer a space where adults can slow down, feel supported, and work toward meaningful change. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, burnout, relationship challenges, grief, trauma, or simply feeling overwhelmed by the weight of everyday life, therapy can provide space to better understand yourself and move forward with greater clarity and care.

We believe therapy works best when you feel genuinely connected to the therapist sitting across from you. Our therapists bring warmth, curiosity, attuned presence, and compassion to the therapy space while working collaboratively with you toward your goals.

As a team, we are committed to trauma-informed, culturally responsive, anti-racist, neurodiversity-affirming, and gender-affirming care. We welcome the full complexity of who you are and aim to create space for honest conversations, emotional healing, self-understanding, and growth.

Sometimes relationships can become places where people feel stuck, disconnected, overwhelmed, or hurt. Whether you’re navigating communication challenges, conflict, intimacy concerns, parenting stress, betrayal, life transitions, or simply feeling distant from one another, couples therapy can provide space to slow down, better understand the patterns shaping your relationship, and ultimately develop or strengthen a deeper connection with one another.

At The Cove Therapy, we work to create a space where partners feel heard, respected, and supported. Our therapists help couples strengthen communication, rebuild trust, deepen emotional connection, and move toward healthier ways of relating to one another.

Family Therapy

When communication breaks down, conflict escalates, or stress builds over time, it can be hard for families to feel connected, understood, or on the same team.

Whether you’re navigating parent–child conflict, sibling tension, separation and divorce, blended family adjustments, or mental health concerns affecting the whole family, therapy can help understand the patterns and dynamics at play, and create healthier interactions between family members.

Our therapists take a collaborative approach, supporting each person to feel heard while also working toward shared understanding and stronger relationships. We focus on improving communication, reducing conflict, and helping families reconnect in ways that feel more supportive and sustainable.

Therapy for Pre-Teens & Teens

Between friendships, school pressure, identity, emotions, family stress, social media, anxiety, and growing independence, it’s common for young people to feel overwhelmed at times.

At The Cove Therapy, we aim to create a space where teens and preteens feel safe, respected, and heard. Therapy can help young people build confidence, understand their emotions, strengthen coping skills, improve communication, and navigate life’s challenges with support that meets them where they are.

We work with concerns such as anxiety, emotional regulation, self-esteem, friendships, school stress, family conflict, ADHD, perfectionism, life transitions, and more.

Neurodivergent Affirming Therapy

At The Cove Therapy, we offer neurodivergent-affirming therapy that honours different ways of thinking, feeling, communicating, and experiencing the world. We recognize that neurodivergence is not something to be “fixed,” but a meaningful part of who you are that deserves understanding, respect, and support. Late-identified, clinically-diagnosed, self-diagnosed, and questioning folks are welcome here.

Whether you identify as autistic, ADHD, or are exploring neurodivergence more broadly, therapy can be a space to better understand your strengths, challenges, and needs without judgment. We work collaboratively to support self-understanding, emotional regulation, sensory and overwhelm management, executive functioning, relationships, and self-advocacy.

Our approach is affirming, compassionate, and individualized. We aim to reduce shame, increase self-compassion, and support you in building systems and strategies that actually fit your life.

Areas of Focus

  • ADHD Support
  • Autism & Autistic Identity Support
  • Late Diagnosis & Self-Discovery
  • Executive Functioning Challenges
  • Emotional Regulation

  • Anxiety & Depression in Neurodivergence

EMDR Intensives

An EMDR Intensive may be helpful if you have experienced a traumatic event that has disrupted your daily functioning and/or is contributing to significant mental health symptoms. It may also be helpful if you are someone who has experience in therapy and would like to focus specifically on the impact of and healing from trauma experiences. An EMDR Intensive is one or more extended sessions, between 90-minutes to 3 hours, where you are able to work in a focused way. If you are interested to learn more about EMDR Intensives and whether this approach may be helpful to you, please reach out.

An EMDR Intensive might be helpful if:

  • You’ve experienced a single-incident trauma (an accident, assault, medical trauma)
  • Are experiencing a specific trigger or phobia but are otherwise feeling stable
  • Are feeling “stuck” in your long-term regular therapy
  • Feel you are generally coping well, but would like to work on one specific area

Group Therapy

Group therapy can be an incredible way to support your mental health, build accountability and support, and practice new ways of being in a relationship.

Group Therapy might be helpful if you:

  • Are you needing increased support for your mental health
  • Find the cost of individual therapy prohibitive
  • Would like a place to feel a sense of community and accountability
  • Feel curious about what group therapy could offer you.

If you’d like us to be in touch about our upcoming group offerings, sign up for our newsletter here, check out our events page, or reach us at hello@thecovetherapy.ca.
